Who we are
Slí Nua Nexus (part of Slí Nua, a not-for-profit social enterprise based in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact us at nexus@slinua.org.
What we collect and why
- Account and booking data (name, email, workshop and space bookings) to provide the services you request. Lawful basis: contract.
- Communications you send us (email, forms). Lawful basis: legitimate interests and, where you opt in, consent.
- Strictly necessary cookies for session, security and load balancing. No consent required under SI 336/2011.
- Optional cookies for preferences, analytics and marketing are only set with your prior, freely given, specific and informed consent.
Cookies and consent
In line with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) guidance and the ePrivacy Regulations (SI 336/2011), we do not set non-essential cookies before you consent. The banner offers Accept and Reject options at equal prominence, and no category is pre-ticked. Your consent is refreshed at least every six months. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time.
How we share data
We use a small number of processors to run the site (hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, payment processing). They act only on our instructions and under contract. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We keep booking and account data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and safeguarding obligations. Web analytics data, where enabled, is retained in aggregated form only.
Your GDPR rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data (right to be forgotten), subject to legal limits.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability in a structured, commonly used format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing.
- Not be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or significant effect.
