Overview

A creative, hands-on intensive that uses design methods to respond to social needs, turning lived experience and community insight into services, objects, rituals and interventions that people actually use.

Objectives

To give participants a practical social-design toolkit: needs research, insight framing, rapid prototyping and testing with the people the work is meant to serve.

Learning outcomes

Participants will run light-touch needs research, frame insights into clear design opportunities, prototype a response at low cost, and plan how to test and iterate it in the community.

Who it is for

Community workers, artists and makers, social entrepreneurs, youth and family services, volunteers and local residents.

You leave with

A tested prototype of a social-design response, with an insight brief and an iteration plan.
